Setting up an 'Authority to Leave' delivery tag

Authority to Leave (ATL)

Whether your deliveries are going to a home or business, missing a delivery because no one is available to sign can be frustrating. Our Authority to Leave (ATL) system allows your items to be delivered securely, even if no one is present.

How It Works:

  • You choose a safe and accessible location on your property (e.g. by the back door, under the deck, behind a gate).

  • We install a small metallic barcode at that location.

  • When your courier delivers an item, they scan the barcode to confirm the delivery in our tracking system.

  • All future deliveries will be left at this location — even if someone is home at the time.

Please note:

  • ATL is not a replacement for organising a redelivery if a delivery attempt has already been made.

  • In some cases, certain senders (e.g. passport deliveries) require a signature and do not allow ATL. In these instances, a missed delivery card will be left, and you’ll need to arrange redelivery or collection

How to Get an Authority to Leave (ATL) Delivery Tag

  1. Identify a safe, weather-protected location on your property or premises where parcels can be left securely (e.g., by the back door or under a deck).

  2. Fill out the Authority to Leave (ATL) form available on our website.

  3. When your courier next delivers to your property, they will install a small metallic barcode tag at the specified location.

Once installed, all future deliveries will be left at this tagged spot unless otherwise instructed.

Is Your Parcel Already on Its Way?

If your parcel is already in transit and you do not have an Authority to Leave (ATL) barcode set up for your property, you will need to contact your local Post Haste branch to arrange delivery to an address where you—or someone you trust—will be available to receive it.

You can find your local branch contact details here
